The Rotary Auger that really cleans ducts

Why it works where others can't.

The rotary auger is the most versatile and effective tool available for ventilation duct cleaning. Pushed down the duct much like a plumbers snake, the rotating head scours the walls of the duct loosening debris, which is then pulled to the negative air/retrieval unit for collection and disposal. E.S.I, chooses to provide separate high c.f.m.-. neg. air units, because high velocity air movement is the best way to keep loosened debris in suspension, particularly when large amounts of debris are present. Another advantage of the separate auger/neg. air arrangement is that the auger isn't encumbered by a bulky vacuum hose. The rotary auger can actually pass through internal dampers and many other obstructions that would stop a conventional brush or robot "in its tracks". "Much less expensive than "robotic" systems the rotary auger isn't limited by size or type of ductwork. Auger heads come in a variety of sizes and materials to handle most any application. More aggressive and consistent that air whips", E.S.I, high quality rotary augers are versatile, reliable, thorough, and effective.

Rectangular Ductwork

Extraction Systems patented duct cleaning equipment facilitates the cleaning of square and rectangular ducts by using nylon flails that adapt to the shape of the duct to be cleaned. As the auger (cleaning head) rotates centrifugal force pushes the flails to the walls of the duct. the flails, sized so that a portion of their length drags on the wall of the duct reach into comers that would be impossible to clean with a conventional brush. In the forward or clockwise mode the equipment tracks to the right due to the drag of the rotating head on the surface that is being cleaned. In the reverse mode the head spins the opposite direction and ' - tracks to the left. By feeding the auger into the duct in a forward rotation and retrieving it in reverse even rectangular ducts with a width twice the height can be effectively cleaned in one pass in and out.
